Job summary

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is hiring an Advanced Engineering Technician in McLeansville, NC to design, fabricate, assemble, test, and troubleshoot prototype electromechanical systems.

You will work with CNC and manual machines, HAAS Mills, and multi-axis equipment, using SolidWorks/CAM software and GD&T practices. The role requires an associate degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
  • Associate’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with fabrication tools and the ability to fabricate complex hardware.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted technical and engineering theory.
  • Advanced machining experience using manual and CNC-controlled equipment, including HAAS Mills, 4th- and 5th-axis machining, and lathes.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAM software.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ability to apply GD&T requirements.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering activities involving the design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics to support fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Construct, modify, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and adjust tools, equipment, hardware, and systems.
  • Perform advanced manual and CNC machining using HAAS Mills, 4th- and 5th-axis equipment, and lathes.
  • Fabricate complex hardware using appropriate machining and fabrication tools and techniques.
  • Use SolidWorks or other CAM software to support machining, fabrication, and engineering requirements.
  • Apply GD&T requirements during fabrication and inspection activities.
  • Use precision measurement and inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges, to verify component dimensions and requirements.
  • Design and construct basic tooling and fixtures for specialized engineering and fabrication tasks.
  • Conduct, analyze, and document statistically based experiments to establish process parameters.
  • Analyze and interpret technical data to identify cause-and-effect relationships and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and document solutions for complex process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to support design concepts and hardware development.

Advanced Engineering Technician

We are hiring an Advanced Engineering Technician to support the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and modification of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, and specialized test equipment. This hands‑on engineering technician role requires experience with CNC and manual machining, HAAS Mills, 4th- and 5th-axis machining, lathes, SolidWorks/CAM software, GD&T, precision measurement tools, hardware fabrication, and engineering drawings.

This role supports Engineering and Operations teams by fabricating complex hardware, building tooling and fixtures, conducting experiments, analyzing technical data, and implementing process improvements for advanced technology systems.

Responsibilities:
