Job summary

BAC (Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc.) is seeking an Advanced Controls Engineer in the U.S. for software design and development of electromechanical control systems in BAC products.

You will join a growing team leading our digitalization journey and will work on features for fan motors, pumps, valves, sensors, and more. The role requires 5+ years in electro-mechanical controls software, experience with C/C++, C#, Python, and PLC languages, and knowledge of Modbus/BACnet protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in HVAC applications is a plus.
• Experience in software languages such as C/C++, C#, Python, Structured Text, and PLC languages; Modicon, Carel or Beckhoff TwinCAT is a plus.
• Excellent remote communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• 5+ years of experience developing electro-mechanical control systems software.
• 5+ years of hands-on controls implementation including system integration, commissioning, start-up, and field deployment.

Responsibilities

• Participate on controls software development projects to provide technical solutions for software features and implementations.
• Create software specifications to meet control systems requirements and customer input.
• Design, develop, and document software to control fans, pumps, valves, safety switches, heating elements, sensors, and other control inputs/outputs.
• Implement features for data communication to customer building management systems using Modbus and BACnet.
• Produce efficient code that meets software specs and budgets.
• Analyze complex software issues and provide solutions.
• Support field issues including troubleshooting, debugging and upgrading software.
• Coordinate software design and code reviews within internal and external teams.
• Support hardware development with panel layout, wiring diagrams, I/O selection, and component specs.
