Job description

Overview

The Controls Engineer plays a critical role in presale, startup, and ongoing support of control systems across various projects. This position bridges engineering design, field execution, and customer support, ensuring that systems meet all technical, functional, and performance specifications. This role requires a balance of strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently to manage customer expectations and timely resolution to ensure successful outcomes for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead controls ETOs from pre-sales through commissioning and final handover, ensuring technical and timeline objectives are met.
  • Deliver on-site support, including installation, validation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer training for control systems.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt issue resolution, root cause analysis, and effective communication with internal teams.
  • Provide pre-commissioning guidance to help customers prepare installations and avoid startup issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all assigned field-related controls issues, offering expert technical support and escalation management.
  • Liaise with engineering, platform, and field service teams to support control system design, release, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and manage controls-related warranty claims, define corrective actions, and coordinate part orders, technician dispatch, and back charges.
  • Verify system installation and performance meet contract requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations.
  • Conduct site visits and field tests, assisting contractors and ensuring proper system integration and operation.
  • Document and communicate findings from field issues via the Feedback Loop, contributing to manuals, troubleshooting guides, and process improvements.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and reliability.
  • Represent the company professionally, building strong customer relationships and ensuring high service standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications

Nature & Scope

The Control Support Engineer reports to the Regional Engineering Manager. This role will have interactions with all areas and levels within the organization, as well as customers and suppliers. This role does not have direct reports.

Compensation & Benefits

BAC Hiring Compensation Range $59,500- $102,000
