Job summary

Socket.dev in Augusta, GA seeks a dedicated Case Manager to support accountability court participants by coordinating resources, screening for substance use and mental health needs, and ensuring proper recordkeeping in line with grant requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Identify and connect resources to serve accountability court participants.

Job description

Key Responsibilities and Performance Standards
  • Identify and recommend appropriate resources to facilitate access to services for accountability court participants;
  • Ensure that participants are being properly screened for drug/alcohol abuse, mental health needs, and veteran status as determined appropriate by the staffing team and ensure that the drug lab staff is operating the drug lab in a proper and efficient manner;
  • Complete weekly case notes, draft agreements, track participant fees and payments, and complete weekly reports while maintaining necessary recordkeeping in accordance with grant requirements;
  • Work in close cooperation with Judges and the Coordinator to plan and prepare for case staffings, court sessions, graduations, terminations, and grant reporting;
  • Assess program and participant need, evaluate new resources and establish new contacts while providing services as a Case Manager to participants.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of the Case Managers and act as Coordinator in his/her absence.
Qualifications
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, criminal justice, behavior management, public health, sociology, corrections or a related field. Advanced degree and/or licensure or credentials in social work, addiction management or counseling preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years of fieldwork or case management experience to include project or program case management, in the field of addictions, human/family services, health services, public safety, law enforcement or corrections.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of case management practices in the context of a court-supervised substance abuse and mental health program including, but not limited to, state and national best practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and customer service are of the highest priority as well as competence and temperament to communicate with the legal community, in-house court personnel, Accountability Court participants, and the general public in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a full-time standard Court work schedule (Monday through Friday) with flexibility to accommodate evening hours at least once weekly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and make decisions based on experience, good judgment, and established policies and procedure
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and competence while maintaining an effective and confidential working relationship when dealing with judges, attorneys, courts personnel, service providers, and accountability court participants.
  • Ability to develop partnerships and foster a spirit of teamwork among participants; develop and supervise, community service and volunteer projects for participants and committees; and to bring people from different agencies together to accomplish the goals of the program.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate records and in data processing and case management systems.
  • Ability to provide proper supervision and training to assigned staff and contractors.
  • Ability to apply statutory requirements and to understand and comply with state and federal confidentiality laws concerning medical, substance abuse and mental health treatment.

Certification(s): This position will not act in a clinical capacity and supervision hours will not be offered if applicant requires clinical licensing hours. Licenses and Certificates in the fields of social work, substance abuse counseling and/or similar fields are not a requirement for employment but are preferred.

Works closely with the clinical treatment provider(s) and community supervision officers to provide ongoing assessment and communication of the participant\'s progress and to coordinate referrals to appropriate ancillary service providers
