Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support our surgical operations at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. This onsite role includes reception, clerical duties, and coordinating surgical schedules with attention to patient experience.

The candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent, with a preference for an Associate's degree, and at least two years of medical office experience. Onsite work, 40 hours per week, with the posted pay range for this position.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of medical office experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Performing receptionist and clerical duties.
  • Surgical scheduling/coordination and scheduling patient appointments.
  • Clinical and insurance referral management, health insurance payor review, specialty testing prior authorization, and scheduling of special testing.
  • Answering the telephone system promptly and gathering screening information; taking, relaying, and managing messages and/or providing routine information.
  • Supporting providers with calendar management and reconciliation of business expenses/reimbursements for the team.
  • Other special projects and administrative tasks that are assigned.
