Job summary

rms Company in Minnesota seeks a Manufacturing Engineer III to join the Additive Manufacturing Team, interfacing with customers, engineering, quality, and operations to move projects from concept to realization.

You will lead project management activities, develop manufacturing processes, coordinate DFM reviews, and support cost estimation while mentoring peers and ensuring adherence to QMS requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Fluent with a 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Unigraphics).
• Ability to lead meetings with agenda and minutes.
• Understand GD&T, blueprints, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of machining: AM machines, CNC, inspection methods.
• ERP familiarity; ProfitKey a plus; Lean manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiate Project Management processes and tools for new projects.
• Manage milestones/trackers; keep dates up to date and accurate.
• Communicate trackers and updates to internal/external customers.
• Lead pre-production, manufacturing, and customer meetings.
• Facilitate DFM meetings as required by customer or manufacturing.
• Conduct post-mortem and project close-out analyses.
• Assist with part cost estimation.
• Develop manufacturing models, prints, routings, and work instructions.
• Develop processes to take design to product realization and shipment.
• Support fixtures, models, drawings, and manufacturing research.
• Troubleshoot processes to reduce scrap, cycle time, and improve throughput.
• Mentor less experienced team members; interface with customers on projects.
• Ensure compliance with QMS: ISO 9001, 13485, GMP and GDPR.
