Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer to manage and optimize Software AG ADABAS/Natural environments for client systems in the United States. The role covers upgrades, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and proactive maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of ADABAS/Natural experience, strong collaboration with vendors, and the ability to work in a high-pressure, 24x7 setting while following ITSM change control procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of professional experience in Software AG ADABAS/Natural and related products for administration and systems programming support.
Extensive experience with best practices of software management, maintenance, and documentation.
Configure and manage Software AG ADABAS and related products such as Natural.
SME in ADABAS database administration, NATURAL Security, Fast Path.
Database design and definition of FDT and DDMs.
Performance tuning and monitoring of ADABAS environments.
Experience with ADABAS utilities and related tools.

Responsibilities

Perform mainframe database software upgrades and administration for ADABAS environments.
Tune and optimize database performance and conduct 24x7 on-call support.
Maintain disaster recovery procedures and regular backups/restores.
Document tasks and adhere to change management policies.
Onboarding new clients and reviewing new Software AG ADABAS versions for client benefit.
