This role represents the highest level of technical care within acute nursing services, demonstrating advanced clinical competency and a commitment to patient safety and quality for diverse patient populations across approved specialty care departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of acute care or similar patient setting required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and interprofessional teamwork.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope including advanced skills.
• Knowledge of patient care across diverse populations.
• BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with the interprofessional team, patient, family, and care partners to support care delivery and patient flow.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under licensed clinicians, showing increased competency and efficiency.
• Performs a broader range of patient care tasks aligned with training and department needs.
• Applies critical thinking to changes in patient condition and escalates when needed.
• Supports patient safety by following protocols and identifying risks.
• Assists with coordination of care activities and unit throughput.
• Maintains certifications and ongoing skill development.
• Guides and supports new team members without formal supervisory duties.
• Maintains supplies and readiness of the clinical environment.
