Job summary

Kinetic, a remote-first workers’ compensation analytics company based in New York City, seeks an actuary (ACAS required) to own pricing analysis, portfolio monitoring, and indications work within the Actuarial & Analytics team. This high-visibility role will directly influence carrier conversations and underwriting decisions, with end-to-end ownership of express-quote and renewal-tiering models.

You’ll write and validate models in Excel and Python, build SQL queries in Athena, and collaborate

Qualifications

• ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) required, or near-credential with final exams in progress; FCAS welcome.
• Active exam and/or continuing-education progress expected.
• 5–10 years of actuarial experience in P&C insurance.
• Workers’ compensation or commercial lines experience strongly preferred.
• Prior MGA, insurtech, or specialty carrier experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to present actuarial findings to underwriting, finance, or carrier partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing analysis for new and renewal business: exposure rating, loss development, and rate adequacy reviews.
• Document and communicate actuarial indications; translate findings into pricing recommendations for underwriting leadership.
• Collaborate with data scientists on pricing model outputs, dashboards, research, and analyses.
• Own quarterly portfolio monitoring end-to-end: analyze loss ratio, claim frequency, and severity trends by segment.
• Develop and validate models; maintain documentation for audits.
