Job summary

MAPFRE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Modeler to lead the development and maintenance of actuarial models across multiple U.S. states.

This role combines advanced coding expertise with deep actuarial knowledge to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance in a dynamic environment. The position offers hybrid or remote work with Webster, MA flexibility, and opportunities to mentor junior modelers while shaping modeling standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ CAS exams passed (MAS-I/MAS-II preferred).
• 3+ years in personal auto line pricing/modeling.
• At least 1 year of hands-on modeling experience.
• Strong programming skills in SQL; Python and Earnix experience a plus; ability to automate actuarial processes.

Responsibilities

• Build & Maintain Models tailored to state-specific regulatory and business requirements.
• Automate & Optimize workflows using SQL and Python to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Innovate by integrating new features, data sources, and techniques to improve model performance and insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align assumptions, inputs, and outputs.
• Lead Governance by overseeing model documentation, validation, and compliance processes.
• Mentor junior modelers and foster technical excellence within the team.
• Stay Current by monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring models remain compliant.
