Job summary

Pacific Guardian Life seeks an experienced Actuary to serve as a subject matter expert within our corporate actuarial team. The role emphasizes data management, reporting, and collaboration with business lines to enhance earnings stability and risk-adjusted returns.

The candidate will oversee data systems, provide guidance to the Chief Actuary, and stay current on actuarial standards. Remote or in-person work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, actuarial science, business or a related field.
• ASA or FSA designation preferred but not required with demonstration of relevant experience.
• 10 years of professional actuarial work experience in annuities or life insurance.
• Experience modeling with AXIS and interpreting GGY Axis output.
• GAAP/ERM/ALM experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assure quality data management including review, construction, maintenance and development of reports and methodologies to check for completeness and accuracy.
• Work with other departments to obtain, maintain, and improve systems to provide reliable data.
• Assist the Appointed Actuary by providing data and creating or revising systems to support data needs.
• Provide interpretive and implementation advice to the Chief Actuary/Chief Risk Officer.
• Maintain a working knowledge of actuarial standards, best practices and evolving issues.
