Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Senior Actuary for Annuity Valuation to lead valuation and reporting across the full annuity portfolio, including variable and fixed-indexed products. You will partner with Finance, Modeling and Product teams to drive insights, improve processes, and ensure compliance with Statutory and US GAAP/LDTI requirements.

Qualifications

• FSA designation is required.
• Typically eight or more years of actuarial experience.
• Deep experience with Statutory valuation and US GAAP/LDTI valuation.
• Experience with annuity products: variable annuities, RILA, fixed-indexed annuities, MYGA, SPIA.

Responsibilities

• Own or oversee valuation and reporting processes across the annuity portfolio under statutory, GAAP and LDTI.
• Analyze reserves, capital, earnings emergence and product calculations; translate into insights.
• Serve as technical resource for assigned products; communicate findings to diverse audiences.
• Develop, test, and enhance actuarial models, tools, documentation and controls.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, consistent results.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and transparency.
• Support financial reporting, audits and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership on special projects affecting the annuity business.
