Job summary

Nationwide Financial is seeking a Senior Actuary, Annuity Valuation to own and elevate valuation processes across the full annuity portfolio. You will partner with Product, Financial Reporting and Modeling teams to analyze results and drive improvements across Statutory and US GAAP responsibilities.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an FSA and typically eight or more years of actuarial experience in statutory/GAAP valuation, with deep knowledge of variable and indexed annuities and

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or similar with modeling/quant analysis.
FSA designation required and typically eight or more years of actuarial experience.
Experience with statutory and US GAAP/LDTI valuation and annuity products.

Responsibilities

Own or oversee valuation and reporting across the annuity portfolio under statutory and GAAP bases.
Analyze reserves, capital, earnings emergence and other valuation drivers.
Develop, maintain and enhance actuarial valuation models, tools and controls.
Provide technical leadership on special projects affecting the annuity business.
