Job summary

Pacific Guardian Life in Hawaii seeks an experienced Actuary to join the corporate actuarial team, focusing on data integrity, reporting, and risk management within annuities and life insurance. The role may be remote or in-person at our Honolulu office, depending on business needs and candidate preference.

You will advise on data systems, support the Appointed Actuary, and help ensure stable earnings, growth and acceptable risk-adjusted returns under a comprehensive risk framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, actuarial science, business or related field.
• ASA or FSA designation preferred but not required with relevant experience.
• Experience working with and interpreting AXIS outputs.
• Ten years of professional actuarial work experience in annuities or life insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assure quality data management including review, construction, maintenance and development of reports to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain, maintain, and improve systems to provide reliable data.
• Assist the Appointed Actuary by providing data and creating or revising systems to support data needs.
• Provide interpretive and implementation advice to the Chief Actuary/Chief Risk Officer.
• Maintain and improve technical competence by reading professional literature and attending actuarial events.
