Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking an experienced actuary to join the Data Science group as an individual contributor. The role focuses on developing and implementing pricing and reserving analyses for Toyota’s insurance and protection products, including monitoring key pricing components and leading related updates.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on actuarial experience with pricing, reserving, forecasting, or loss analysis using Python and SQL.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with sound judgment for complex problems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide actuarial pricing and rate indications for pricing programs.
• Develop predictive models and analytical frameworks to improve forecasting and insights.
• Analyze large datasets to support pricing and performance decisions by product.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify trends and opportunities.
• Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with visuals and clear recommendations.
• Lead unpaid claims estimates and ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Monitor earnings patterns by product segment and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support timely decision-making across departments with actionable analyses.
