Job summary

United Automobile Insurance Company seeks a Pricing Actuary Lead (open rank) to guide pricing strategy across our P&C product portfolio. The role partners with Product, Underwriting, and Analytics to shape rate adequacy and profitability in a dynamic non-standard auto market.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of pricing experience in P&C, strong technical skills (Excel/SQL/R/Python; Emblem/Radar), and ACAS or progress toward credentials. This is a remote position aligned with the Southeast region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related field required.
• ACAS designation preferred; progress toward actuarial credentials is a plus.
• Master’s degree in quantitative discipline is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help lead the design and implementation of pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with profitability and growth targets.
• Oversee rate reviews and pricing model development across states and segments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Underwriting, Reserving and Claims to inform pricing decisions and support new product initiatives.
• Drive rate filing strategies, including preparation of actuarial support and regulatory responses.
• Monitor performance metrics such as loss ratios, retention, and conversion to evaluate pricing effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
• Develop predictive models to improve product segmentation and pricing.
