Job summary

Branch, a remote-first insurer headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, seeks an experienced credentialed actuary to lead pricing across home and auto lines. You’ll own rate indications, execute annual rate plans, and develop segmentation while mentoring a team of analysts.

The role emphasizes speed, autonomy, and evidence-based decision making. You will partner with Product, Underwriting, and Finance to produce filings, refine models, and improve processes in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• ACAS is required at minimum; FCAS welcome.
• 6+ years of progressive actuarial experience with ownership of workstreams.
• Experience managing at least one direct report.
• Deep technical expertise in P&C pricing, segmentation, and predictive modeling.
• Proficiency in R for ad hoc analysis; validate data before publishing.
• Akur8 experience is a plus; prior use not required.

Responsibilities

• Own the rate indication process for home and auto, including quarterly updates.
• Execute the annual rate plan across all states and lines with product collaboration.
• Deliver filings materials to product and manage approvals.
• Develop new segmentation for the rating plan and present evidence-based recommendations.
• Maintain pricing methodology and rate adequacy across lines; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Establish actuarial policies, workflows, and documentation for accuracy and repeatability.
• Identify opportunities to improve actuarial systems, tools, and workflows.
• Support cat load and other reinsurance-adjacent analyses feeding pricing decisions.
• Conduct financial analyses informing underwriting strategy and profitability.
• Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, and Finance on actuarial questions.
• Clearly communicate complex findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Lead and develop a team of actuarial professionals; manage performance.
