Job summary

Brighthouse Financial is seeking a Senior Actuarial Associate II for Actuarial Model Validation in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid/remote role focuses on independent model validations, regulatory compliance, and collaborating with Pricing, Valuation, and ALM teams.

The ideal candidate has experience with annuities, strong Excel/VBA skills, and familiarity with Prophet or similar software. ASA designation is highly preferred for this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with annuity products in valuation, modeling, and hedging.
• Strong financial modeling background with advanced Excel and VBA.
• Experience using actuarial modeling software such as Prophet or similar.
• ASA designation highly preferred; candidates near ASA and relevant annuity experience considered.
• Familiarity with PBR and pre-PBR valuation guidance is a plus.
• Interest in emerging AI model risk and validation practices is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent model validations, including reviewing model documentation, evaluating model risks, and proposing review strategies and recommendations.
• Identify model risks and issues and propose enhancements to model design, controls, and governance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for applicable models, while promoting sound modeling practices.
• Partner with teams across Pricing, ALM, and Valuation to provide effective challenge and validation support.
• Support the Model Governance function by performing risk-based model reviews.
• Leverage AI tools to support research and develop tools for model validation.
• Perform and support other CRM initiatives as needed.
