Job summary

Centene is seeking a Senior Manager, Actuarial Services to lead strategic Medicare initiatives and build analytical tools for planning, pricing, and risk assessment. You will own key tools, mentor 2–4 direct reports, and collaborate with Health Plans, Finance, and Accounting.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years of actuarial experience, an ASA or FSA designation (MAAA preferred), and strong healthcare actuarial expertise. The role is fully remote within the continental US, ET/CT preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of actuarial experience required.
• ASA or FSA designation required; MAAA preferred.
• Healthcare and Medicare Advantage actuarial experience, including cost trend analysis and bid development.
• Advanced Excel (arrays, PivotTables, VBA), SQL, SAS and AI-enabled analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Medicare strategic initiatives and planning.
• Own tools and processes, supporting internal users’ needs.
• Review and certify MA bids if eligible for AAAS membership.
• Train and develop direct report(s) in technical skills and Medicare knowledge.
• Apply mathematics, probability, statistics, and finance to calculate financial outcomes.
• Develop, assess, and negotiate capitation or premium rates with agencies.
• Oversee health plan experience, identify trends, and suggest improvements.
• Research new business opportunities and analyze impacts of legislation.
• Present results to internal partners and develop actionable recommendations.
• Lead cross-functional teams to address key organizational issues.
• Suggest policy and procedural changes and ensure compliance.
