Oliver Wyman Actuarial – M&A Consulting Actuary – US Life & Annuity is a hybrid role with offices in NY, Boston, Chicago and other Oliver Wyman sites. The team advises on mergers, acquisitions and capital markets activities for life and annuity products, applying advanced modelling and risk management techniques.

The role requires 5+ years in financial consulting or insurance, with prior life insurance M&A and pricing experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in financial consulting or insurance - FSA preferred
• Prior life insurance M&A and pricing experience is required
• Proficient in actuarial pricing models, profitability projections, and data flow management
• Strong risk management, sensitivity analysis, and regulatory testing background
• Experience in product development, valuation, financial reporting, and risk management across life/annuity

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models for mergers, acquisitions, internal and external reinsurance, and other capital markets transactions with minimal oversight
• Manage actuarial due diligence, including review of appraisals, product features, experience studies/assumptions, and asset portfolios
• Develop executive-level management reports and data visualizations
• Present findings to senior management and C-suite executives
• Build a network in the industry through deals, conferences, and events
• Participate in client sales meetings and proposal development
• Collaborate with management consulting and actuarial practices US and globally
• Serve as a trusted resource for clients and junior staff on product- and technical-related questions
