Job summary

Lyft is seeking an actuarial-focused data professional to develop robust ETL pipelines and maintain comprehensive actuarial data for analysis. You will build dashboards, collaborate on modeling, reserving, and pricing, and contribute to cross-functional decision-making with timely insights.

Experience in auto insurance and strong SQL/R/Python skills are required, with FCAS path support. This hybrid role involves cross-team collaboration and data-driven impact in pricing challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or similar.
• 3+ years of relevant internships, or entry-level experience in P&C actuarial field (FCAS support for career development)
• Personal or commercial auto insurance experience required
• Very strong SQL; experience with ETL and R/Python; interest in coding/automation preferred
• Working knowledge with Github
• Experience or knowledge in reserving/pricing is a plus
• Experience with competitive analysis/financial statement analysis a plus
• Great communication and presentation skills
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Balance attention to detail with fast-paced Lyft environment
• Passionate about actuarial science and eager to learn and grow
• Highly innovative

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing robust ETL pipelines and maintaining complete and accurate actuarial data for analysis.
• Design and build data monitoring dashboards to drive data insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on modeling / reserving / pricing projects
• Contribute to the process changes to promote prompt and accurate data to cross-functional teams
• Support the financial reporting process by providing key actuarial inputs and analysis
• Support competitive analysis by researching financial statements, insurance company filing (e.g. schedule P) and other industry papers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of tasks
• Take ownership of the tasks assigned and drive insightful analysis
