Job summary

Lyft is seeking an actuary to develop robust data pipelines, build dashboards, and advise on pricing challenges across Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and Finance. The role focuses on actuarial analysis, data governance, and cross-team collaboration in a dynamic, hybrid NYC environment.

You will work on reserving, pricing projects, and competitive analyses, while supporting the financial reporting process and ongoing career development within the actuarial field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or similar.
• 3+ years of relevant internships or entry-level experience in P&C actuarial field; FCAS support planned.
• Very strong SQL; experience with ETL and R/Python; coding/automation interest.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing robust ETL pipelines and maintaining actuarial data for analysis.
• Design and build data monitoring dashboards to drive data insights
• Collaborate on modeling, reserving, pricing projects across cross-functional teams
• Contribute to process changes to promote prompt, accurate data sharing
• Support financial reporting with key actuarial inputs and analysis
• Support competitive analysis with financial statements and industry papers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely task completion
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and drive insightful analysis
