Job summary

Lyft in Seattle seeks an actuarial professional to build robust ETL pipelines and dashboards, driving pricing, reserving, and analytics across the organization. You will partner with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Public Policy to solve complex challenges and deliver actionable insights.

The role requires strong SQL, ETL, and Python/R skills, with an emphasis on coding/automation and cross-team collaboration. A hybrid in-office schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or similar.
• 3+ years of relevant internships, or entry-level experience in P&C actuarial field; FCAS path encouraged.
• Personal or commercial auto insurance experience required.
• Very strong SQL; ETL and R/Python experience and coding/automation interest helpful.
• Working knowledge with GitHub.
• Experience in reserving/pricing and competitive/financial analysis a plus.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organization and time management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing robust ETL pipelines and maintaining actuarial data for analysis.
• Design and build data monitoring dashboards to drive data insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on modeling/reserving/pricing projects
• Contribute to processes to promote timely data for cross-functional teams
• Support financial reporting with key actuarial inputs and analysis
• Support competitive analysis by researching financial statements and industry papers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of tasks
• Take ownership of tasks and drive insightful analysis
