Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Data Scientist in San Francisco to join Pricing and Rider Engagement teams. You will partner with Product, Engineering and Analytics to frame problems, write production code, and deploy optimization and ML models that drive real-world pricing decisions for rideshare products.

Candidates should have MS/PhD in a relevant field, 3-5+ years in data science within tech, strong Python skills, and a track record of end-to-end data work from querying to visualization.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in ML, OR, Stats, CS or related field.
• 1-4+ years post-PhD or 3-5+ years MS in data science in a tech company setting.
• Proven experience building and evaluating optimization or machine learning models.
• Proficiency with Python and production coding environment.
• Experience with data querying, aggregation, analysis, and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Frame problems mathematically within business context.
• Write production code with engineers to implement algorithms in live systems.
• Develop and fit statistical, ML, or optimization models; deploy production-grade models.
• Design and analyze experiments; enable data-driven decisions and prioritization.
• Establish metrics and methods to monitor product health and impact.
• Perform deep dive analyses to uncover new product opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate findings to leadership.
