Job description

Senior Actuarial and Product Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a curious, analytical, self-motivated, and creative Senior Actuarial and Product Analyst to help shape property insurance products in Florida. This role combines quantitative analysis with market and regulatory research, rate and rule development, form and contract-language analysis, filing support, and product implementation. This role offers a unique opportunity to help develop our products in one of the country's most dynamic insurance markets. You will have the chance to conduct meaningful research, support creative product initiatives, and play an important part in bringing new ideas to life in a collaborative environment that values growth and innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Research the Florida property insurance market, competitors, customer trends, statutes, regulations, regulatory orders, and filing activity to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement.
  • Research and analyze policy forms, endorsements, exclusions, eligibility provisions, underwriting guidelines, rating rules, and related contract language.
  • Translate research and analysis into clear, effective policy forms, endorsements, underwriting guidelines, rating rules, and product recommendations.
  • Develop, evaluate, and communicate quantitative analyses, including rate-level indications, pricing and segmentation analyses, predictive-model inputs and outputs, and portfolio-performance monitoring.
  • Analyze claims, exposure, policy, catastrophe, and other data to improve actuarial models, product decisions, underwriting strategy, and portfolio management.
  • Partner with catastrophe and actuarial analytics teams to incorporate hurricane-model results into pricing, underwriting, product design, and portfolio-risk decisions.
  • Prepare and support rate, rule, and form filing submissions; collaborate with external actuarial and product consultants, legal/compliance stakeholders, and state regulators as appropriate.
  • Assess alignment among policy language, rating rules, underwriting rules, filing documentation, and technical system configuration.
  • Lead or support technical implementation, testing, rollout, and post-launch performance monitoring for product initiatives.
  • Communicate research findings, technical analyses, and recommendations clearly to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong understanding of the Florida property insurance market and regulatory environment.
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough research and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting product implementation and testing processes, with a focus on ensuring technical accuracy.
  • Experience supporting and preparing insurance filings with state regulators.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, R/Python, and SQL; experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with insurance data, evaluate analytical results, identify data or methodology issues, and translate findings into practical product, pricing, filing, or underwriting recommendations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience); 5+ years of relevant property and casualty insurance experience in a product, actuarial, pricing, regulatory, or filing-focused role, preferably within homeowners or Florida property insurance. Progress toward ACAS, CPCU, AINS, API, or comparable insurance designations is preferred.

Why Join Us

This role is designed for someone who wants to grow their career by contributing to product development from research through implementation. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to creative product initiatives, deepen your expertise in the Florida market, and play a meaningful role in ensuring our products are delivered with quality and precision. We offer a collaborative environment that provides room for professional development and visibility within leadership.
