Overview:

Sentara Health is currently seeking a full-time remote Senior Actuarial Analyst.

Position Details:

• Location: Norfolk, VA (Remote opportunities available in multiple states)
• Work Shift: First (Days)
• Standard Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM
• Employment Type: Full-time, Day Shift

Role Overview:

The Senior Actuarial Analyst will support the actuarial team through data analysis, modeling, risk assessment, and financial forecasting related to healthcare products and services. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate pricing, risk management, and compliance, as well as developing predictive models to improve healthcare outcomes and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing and financial forecasting.
2. Perform risk assessments and financial projections of healthcare plans.
3. Analyze claims data, utilization, and healthcare costs to inform decision-making.
4. Assist in pricing strategies and collaborate with underwriting teams.
5. Monitor health plan performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
6. Prepare reports and documentation for stakeholders and regulators.
7. Support healthcare initiatives with actuarial insights.
8. Mentor junior staff and stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• No specific certification required

Compensation & Benefits:

Base pay ranges from $69,742.40 to $116,254.20, with additional incentives and benefits including health plans, paid leave, 401(k) match, tuition assistance, and more.
