Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support pricing, reserving, reinsurance analysis, and forecasting. The role collaborates with analytics, product, and underwriting to deliver accurate financial insights and strategic support.

The position requires CAS exam progress, a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field, and several years of actuarial experience, including P&C exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field.
• Successful completion of at least four CAS exams.
• Minimum three years actuarial experience, including at least two in P&C.

Responsabilités

• Gather and analyze data for pricing, reserving, product development and capital management; present findings to leadership.
• Lead rate review analyses and communicate assumptions and results to underwriting leadership.
• Prepare rate filing support and respond to inquiries from state departments for WC and other lines.
• Oversee rate filing processes, monitor schedules, and ensure filing quality.
• Develop and maintain management reports and new tools for the department.
• Support capital model maintenance and risk-adjusted performance metrics.
• Mentor analysts and interns; collaborate with other departments on projects.
