Job summary
Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Pharmacy Medical Economics. You will leverage actuarial expertise to shape pharmacy strategy, collaborate across teams, and turn data into insights that drive informed decisions and performance improvements.
The role covers pharmacy trend analysis, profitability forecasting, pricing research, and supporting corporate initiatives. A strong exam track plus SQL proficiency are highly valued as part of a hybrid-flex work model.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree as required.
- 4+ years of relevant actuarial experience; related experience may be considered.
- Completed 5+ exams toward ASA or ASA progression; or ASA/extra exams considered.
- In lieu of minimum exam/experience, ASA or more exams may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Supports pharmacy trend and hot spot analysis.
- Evaluates moderately complex trend analysis.
- Monitors and forecasts pharmacy profitability.
- Provides actuarial support for corporate pharmacy initiatives.
- Performs pricing research projects, including experience and trend analyses, book of business studies, vendor analyses.
- Monitors industry news to stay competitive in a dynamic market.
- Reviews advanced data analytic methods and improves team processes.
- Participates in requirements gathering for corporate projects and acts as delegate for projects.
- Plans and manages projects with moderate/high complexity.
- Participates in the Actuarial Development Program in good standing.
