AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is hiring an experienced actuary for the Commercial Lines Actuarial Pricing team in Boston. You will support profitability, analyze pricing by state and industry, and work with Product and leadership to shape strategy and rate filings.

The role emphasizes building dashboards, monitoring key metrics, and staying ahead of market dynamics to drive profitable growth. Strong ACAS/FCAS progress and P&C pricing experience are valued.

Qualifications

• BS, BA or higher degree.
• ACAS or close to FCAS designation.
• 4+ years of property-casualty commercial lines experience.
• BOP or GL/Property pricing experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel/SQL; Python or R is a plus.

Overview

We are growing and seeking a talented, forward-thinking, and highly motivated actuary to join AmTrust's Commercial Lines Actuarial Pricing team. If you are an ACAS, or close to achieving your designation, and enjoy working collaboratively to solve complex problems, develop strategy, and drive meaningful results, we’d love to hear from you. This is an exciting time to join as we build out and rapidly grow our BOP product.

Responsibilities

• Support profitability analysis and rate indications for BOP portfolio.
• Analyze results by state, industry, and other key business segments, and provide actionable insights to product management and business leaders.
• Recommend rate changes and other strategic actions to achieve an appropriate balance between profitability and growth.
• Provide actuarial support for rate filings, including responding to regulatory objections and ensuring compliance with state insurance requirements.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and business implications to Product and other stakeholders to drive alignment and support decision-making.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards and monitoring tools to track BOP performance and key business metrics.
• Monitor economic trends, competitive market dynamics, and industry benchmarks to inform pricing strategy and business decisions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of property-casualty commercial lines insurance experience
• BOP or GL/Property pricing experience is preferred
• Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
• Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and SQL. R or Python knowledge is a plus
