Job summary

Mission Park Healthcare Center in Santa Barbara, CA, seeks an Activity Assistant to plan and facilitate social and recreational events for residents, enhancing their quality of life. You will evaluate residents' backgrounds and interests to tailor meaningful programs and maintain records of attendance and progress.

The role requires strong communication, ability to engage with residents with varying needs, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with small and large groups.
• Ability to work well with residents with physical or mental limitations.
• Basic computer skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate social and recreational activities to improve residents' quality of life.
• Maintain attendance and participation records.
• Maintain a current list of residents unable or unwilling to participate in activities.
• Develop and post a monthly activities calendar and publicize activities to residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain progress notes and reviews toward goals in the activity plan.
• Coordinate and facilitate monthly resident council meetings.
