Job summary

Rosewood Rehab & Healthcare center in Independence, MO is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a quality activity program and enhancing resident engagement. This role helps motivate residents, lead groups, and participate in community outings as needed.

Shifts are days and weekends. Must be 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and complete at least 10 hours of in-service training per year.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Must be able to work varied hours – including nights, weekends and holidays, when necessary.
• Must acquire a minimum of ten(10) hours in-service training per year, relating to recreation/activities.
• Must be 18.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents to, from and with activities to enable maximum participation.
• Record activity attendance and participation in both group and individual programs.
• Lead assigned groups and individual activities.
• Assist to maintain volunteer records.
• Coordinate arts and crafts program for all levels of residents.
• Review resident activity care plan and assist in providing activities consistent with the plan.
• Assist in seasonal and holiday decorating of facility.
• Provide each resident with a current activity calendar.
• Assist in maintaining an on-going program for resident birthday recognition.
• Participate in community outings and special events as requested.
• Escort residents to outside appointments, as needed.
• Help stock and monitor resident store, as needed.
