Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services is seeking an Activity Aide to assist the Activity Director in planning, coordinating and directing residents' activity programs within the facility.

You will facilitate individual and group activities, support high and low functioning residents, help schedule beauty/barber sessions, document records, and assist with calendars and newsletters; participation in in-services and community events, with occasional weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• A school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or related industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.
• Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residents.
• Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities.
• Provide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate record.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors.
• Calendar should also be provided to each resident and posted in room.
• Assist with generating the facility newsletter.
• Participate in community events related to the interest of the facility.
• Attend in-services as necessary.
• Assist residents to and from activities.
• Assist with activity program including Residents’ Council and night and weekend activities as needed.
• Deliver resident mail daily.
