Job summary

The Activity Assistant at Ivy Park at La Jolla will help organize, schedule, promote, facilitate, and direct activities and excursions to enhance residents’ independence and quality of life. The role supports the Activity Director and may recruit volunteers while ensuring a safe, engaging environment within the community.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a year of experience coordinating activities with seniors; MS Office proficiency and a valid Class C license

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C license with Passenger Endorsement (Class B preferred).
• Able to operate a personal computer and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in creating an engaging social atmosphere and coordinating activities, excursions, and events.
• Recruit, manage and schedule Community Volunteers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff with tact and friendliness.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles and support transport needs.
• Encourage teamwork across departments to enhance resident life.
