Nature Trail Health and Rehab in Mount Vernon, IL is seeking a compassionate, energetic Activity Assistant to join our team. This part-time role focuses on creating meaningful experiences and bringing joy to residents daily.

You will plan and implement activities, support calendars, and help residents stay engaged physically, emotionally, and socially in a warm, resident-centered environment. Walk-ins welcome.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience preferred, especially in long‑term care.
• Creative, motivated, and organized team player.
• Passion for working with seniors and encouraging resident participation.
• Reliable professional with strong attendance and communication skills.
• Compassionate and enthusiastic about hometown care.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support residents and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities focused on entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and social engagement for residents.
• Support the planning, scheduling, and implementation of quality activities based on resident care plans.
• Assist with preparing and distributing activity calendars and communication materials.
• Maintain documentation of resident participation and activities.
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families.
• Encourage participation and create enthusiasm during activities and events.
• Support special events, group activities, and recreational programming.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by leadership.
