Job summary

Agawam South Rehab & Nursing is seeking a caring and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team. This role focuses on creating engaging, meaningful experiences for residents and supporting the Activities Director and care team.

The position emphasizes working with older adults, bringing energy and compassion, and helping plan and facilitate a variety of activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with seniors, patients, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Friendly, enthusiastic, and compassionate personality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable and organized.
• Ability to engage residents and create a positive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and facilitating resident activities and programs.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities based on their interests and abilities.
• Provide hands-on support during group and individual activities.
• Prepare activity areas and materials before programs.
• Clean up and organize after activities.
• Document resident participation and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with the Activities Director and other members of the care team.
