Job summary

Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hanover, PA is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities by planning, leading, and carrying out engaging programs that meet the emotional, recreational, social, and spiritual needs of residents.

Responsibilities include guiding group and individual activities, assisting with daily resident tasks, and helping with progress tracking and event coordination. On-site, full-time role with weekend/holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with elderly or disabled populations preferred.
• Motivated, dependable, and able to independently lead activities.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and assist with resident activities that promote socialization, creativity, exercise, and overall well-being.
• Motivate and encourage resident participation; confidently lead group and one-on-one activities.
• Assist residents with daily personal activities such as writing letters, making phone calls, and participating in programs.
• Escort residents to scheduled activities and events.
• Assist with resident progress documentation and activity attendance tracking.
• Support facility engagement efforts, including mail delivery, plant care, pet/fish care, newsletter preparation, fundraising, and PA announcements.
• Provide and supervise the use of craft supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Encourage residents to express creativity and maximize independence.
