Job summary

Great Lakes Management is seeking an Activities Coordinator to assist in planning and leading diverse programs for residents across social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs.

You will assess resident needs, support monthly calendars, and lead various activities with seniors, including coordinating guest speakers and field trips, while supervising volunteers and maintaining transport assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in senior living settings.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.
• Strong organizational skills
• Good work ethic
• Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
• Assess resident’s recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
• Research and recommend speakers/representatives for entertainment/education.
• Coordinate transportation needs to outside events/programs and accompany residents on field trips.
• Work with volunteers and direct their assignments to support programming.
• Maintain the bus interior and exterior.
• Report maintenance needs promptly.
