Job summary

Great Lakes Management in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Assistant Activity Coordinator to assist in planning, promoting and facilitating a variety of programs for residents, designed to meet social, physical, mental and sensory needs.

You will assess residents’ recreational interests, help develop a monthly Activity Calendar, and lead small, large and one-on-one activities. You’ll coordinate volunteers and transportation as needed, and report maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in a retirement or care facility for seniors.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Currently possess or obtain Class C license within 90 days.
• Ability to use basic Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Strong group leadership and interpersonal skills for various group sizes.
• Able to read/write English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitation/leadership of events or programs.
• Assess residents' recreational and social needs.
• Support development of the monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large, and one-on-one activities with seniors.
• Research and recommend entertainers, speakers, church representatives, etc.
• Coordinate transportation needs to outside events; accompany residents on field trips.
• Coordinate and direct volunteers to support resident programming.
• Maintain the STSW bus interior and exterior.
• Report maintenance needs promptly.
