Job summary

VPD Government Solutions is seeking a Senior Acquisition Policy Advisor in Washington, DC. The role supports the Department's Office of Acquisition Management to align acquisition regulations with the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) and related policy changes.

The position requires a 4-year degree or higher, a Master’s degree preferred, 10+ years in federal acquisition policy, and experience as a Contracting Officer. Hybrid work setup and competitive base pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Direct experience in a Contracting Officer role.
• Ability to translate policy into operational practice.
• Interpret and operationalize FAR changes and related frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Code, CFR, and OMB circulars in federal acquisition.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess changes required to align DOC regulations with the RFO.
• Develop a plan for updating acquisition regulations and policies.
• Draft updates to DOC acquisition regulations and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with statutes, EOs, CFRs and related guidance.
