Job summary

SLR Consulting (US) is seeking an experienced Principal Acoustics Consultant to join our growing team in the United States. This senior, client-facing role requires deep subject-matter expertise, leadership on complex projects, and the ability to build strong client relationships across environmental, architectural, industrial, and underwater acoustics.

Based in any US office with Denver as a key location, you will mentor junior staff, develop technical approaches, and contribute to business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in acoustics, engineering, physics, mathematics, architecture, environmental science, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience in acoustics, noise, vibration, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical oversight on complex acoustics and noise projects across one or more areas of specialization.
• Mentor junior and mid-level acoustics professionals with guidance and examples.
• Manage complex projects from proposal through completion, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication.
• Develop technical approaches, methodologies, reports, assessments, specifications, drawings, and other deliverables.
• Conduct and/or oversee acoustic modeling, noise assessments, field measurements, data analysis, and evaluations.
• Work collaboratively with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor.
• Identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients and contribute to business development.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and presentations.
• Represent SLR at client meetings, industry events, conferences, and technical forums.
• Collaborate with SLR professionals across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to the continued development of SLR's acoustics capabilities and standards.
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of acoustics staff.
