Job summary

AKRF seeks a Senior Acoustical Consultant to join the Acoustics Department in New York City, NY or Mt. Laurel, NJ. You will lead noise and vibration analyses for diverse developments and supervise modeling, field testing, and documentation for environmental reviews.

You’ll develop mitigation strategies, interact with clients, and contribute to CEQR/SEQRA/NEPA documents while coordinating with project teams to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of acoustics or related engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in acoustics, physics, mechanical, electrical or architectural engineering.
• Familiarity with NEPA and state environmental reviews.
• Experience in project management and client interaction.
• CEQR/Noise designations preferred; environmental noise and architectural acoustics helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and contribute to noise and vibration analyses for environmental reviews.
• Model noise and vibration using CadnaA, TNM, FTA, HUD, etc.
• Conduct field measurements and acoustical testing.
• Develop mitigation and control recommendations.
• Prepare noise/vibration chapters for CEQR, SEQRA, NEPA and EIS.
