Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Acoustician/Noise Specialist to join our Environmental Planning team in Purchase, NY. You will lead acoustical and vibration assessments on a range of environmental and architectural projects across the United States, applying advanced modeling, measurements, and consulting expertise.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of acoustical analysis experience, strong leadership and project-management skills, and fluency with ISO standards, GIS/GPS, and modern analysis software.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of acoustical analysis experience with proven project and staff management.
• Leadership skills and ability to manage in a team environment.
• Familiarity with ISO and related acoustical standards.
• Willingness to travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Be a technical expert with authority in specialization, resolve problems of greater scope and complexity, lead and manage acoustical and vibration assessments, and work on a wide range of projects.
• Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed.
• Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
• Serve as Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not the sole focus of the position.
• Focus on tasks including architectural acoustics, environmental noise, and vibration‑related analyses.
• Use state‑of‑the‑art instruments to measure noise and vibrations and to process and analyse that data.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
• Willingness to travel to project locations as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
