Job summary

Wave Engineering, an independent acoustics consultancy in Littleton, Colorado, is seeking a Staff Acoustical Consultant to join our growing team. You will work on architectural acoustics, environmental noise, and vibration projects, collaborating with colleagues and clients to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related fields, and strong communication skills to present complex concepts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or science with acoustics and vibration coursework.
• 2–5 years minimum experience as Staff Acoustical Consultant.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical information clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Writing high-quality architectural and environmental acoustics reports; including markups and sketches.
• Performing acoustics/noise/vibration field measurements with potential travel.
• Reviewing and applying LEED, IBC, HUD, ANSI, ASTM, and ISO acoustic standards.
• Interpreting state/local noise codes and building codes for project relevance.
• Reading architectural/mechanical/structural/civil drawings for acoustic work.
• Performing HVAC and mechanical noise calculations and reverberation analyses.
• Modeling acoustics with software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, INSUL, EASE, and related tools.
• Observing on-site construction to verify implementation of solutions.
• Managing project costs and schedules.
