Job summary

Jobot Consulting is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Rio Rancho, NM for a high-impact contracting role. You will lead month-end and year-end closes, prepare journal entries, and support job costing and project financial tracking in a fast-paced construction environment.

With 3+ years of accounting experience and a strong GAAP background, you will collaborate with operations and project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in construction or contracting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support job costing and project financial tracking.
• Assist with WIP schedules and percentage of completion accounting.
• Prepare financial reports and support management with analysis.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and project teams.

• Key Responsibilities

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
