Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Senior Disbursements Specialist to verify and process invoices and payment requests on a computerized system, ensuring timely and accurate payments in line with GBMC policies. You will collaborate with vendors, purchasing, and GBMC entities to resolve inquiries and discrepancies.

The role requires an Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 3 years in Accounts Payable, with strong data entry, analytical, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 3 years progressive experience in Accounts Payable functions.
• Knowledge of basic accounting laws and IRS regulations as applicable to the Accounts Payable function.
• Strong data entry and data analysis capabilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication with strong customer service.
• Ability to reconcile complex AP issues and investigate discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable payments ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Set up vendors, W-9 and sales tax exemption requests.
• Process PO and non-PO invoices for payment after matching with POs and documentation.
• Handle special checks and update accounting records and controls.
• Reconcile differences between invoices and POs by coordinating with Purchasing and vendors.
• Maintain AP records and perform month-end close tasks.
