Job summary

Trident Seafoods, North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company, is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Analyst. You will ensure AP controls, accurate reporting, and data-driven performance management while aligning with procurement, Accounting, Treasury, and Internal Audit.

You will build dashboards and KPI analytics, supervise audit support, define AP KPIs, and lead process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree plus four years AP experience in a medium to large company.
  • Strong understanding of AP/GL systems and COA.
  • Strong internal controls and compliance knowledge for AP.
  • Advanced Excel with ERP systems experience, SAP preferred.

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce AP policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Monitor invoice approval workflows and vendor data standards.

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Summary

The Trident Seafoods Senior Accounts Payable Analyst ensures the AP function operates with strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and data-driven performance management. This role oversees compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements while building dashboards, KPI’s, and analytics that improve efficiency, accuracy, and vendor satisfaction.

This position partners closely with procurement, Accounting, Treasury, and internal Audit to maintain a high-integrity AP environment.

Essential Functions
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce AP policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead internal and external audit support activities.
  • Monitor compliance with invoice approval workflows, vendor master data standards, and payment authorization rules.
  • Conduct periodic control testing and risk assessments to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain AP dashboards and scorecards covering cycle times, aging, exceptions, and payment accuracy.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual AP performance reports for Finance leadership.
  • Analyze trends to identify bottlenecks, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with IT/Finance Systems to optimize reporting tools and data integrity.
  • Define, track, and continuously refine AP KPIs.
  • Lead performance reviews with AP leadership and recommend operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with AP leadership to design and implement process enhancements.
  • Support automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy.
  • Document processes and maintain SOPs for all AP compliance and reporting activities.
  • Serve as the AP point of contact for audit, compliance, and financial systems teams.
  • Regularly works onsite to build strong team connections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $95,000 to $108,000.

For full-time employees, the initial PTO benefit starts at 20 days per year, adjusted commensurate with relevant experience, front loaded on the first of the year, initially prorated quarterly based on hire date. Required Qualifications
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree and four years of accounts payable experience in a medium to large company.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable/general ledger systems and processes including financial chart of accounts.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and financial compliance requirements as it relates to Accounts Payable.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills: experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Understand the principles of internal controls as they relate to AP.
Preferred Education & Experiences
  • Experience with Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of Procure to Pay workstream essentials.
  • Exposure to basic project management principles.

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear, to stand; walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
