Job summary

Trident Seafoods Corporation, based in Seattle, is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Alaska Manufacturing division. The role performs financial analysis for processing facilities, establishes KPIs, and supports planning and reporting at our Seattle Support Center.

The analyst will forecast finances, validate cost-saving initiatives, work with logistics and procurement, and prepare plant P&Ls. On-site presence is required with some remote Fridays, and SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive finance related experience.
  • Four-year degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; or equivalent education/experience.
  • Analytical background with modeling revenues, costs and expenses in a finance environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial forecasting and validate cost saving and revenue driving projects across Alaska.
  • Collaborate with logistics and procurement teams to validate cost savings across direct, indirect, and transportation & warehousing projects.
  • Generate and distribute weekly/monthly/quarterly spend, inventory, and production reports as needed.
  • Assist manufacturing controllers in preparing plant financials such as pro-forma P&Ls and trend analyses.
  • Assist with understanding supply and cost rate variances for Alaska operations.
  • Support process improvement projects to update transactional, financial, and reporting processes.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analytical projects as requested.
  • Regularly work on-site to collaborate with cross-functional teams and solve problems in real time.

Summary:

The Financial Analyst supports the Trident Alaska Manufacturing division of Trident Seafoods Corporation, an Alaska based seafood manufacturer with a Support Center in Seattle. This position, located at our Seattle Support Center, completes financial analysis of our processing facilities in Alaska, establishes and measures KPIs to validate productivity initiatives, prepares periodic reporting, and supports financial planning.

Essential Functions:
  • Supports our Operational Excellence team by providing financial forecasting and validation of cost saving and revenue driving projects across Alaska.
  • Work collaboratively with logistics and procurement teams to validate cost saving initiatives across direct, indirect, and transportation & warehousing projects.
  • Generates and distributes weekly/monthly/quarterly spend, inventory, and production reports as needed.
  • Assists manufacturing controllers in preparing plant financials such as pro-forma P&Ls and analyzes various trends and key performance indicators.
  • Assists manufacturing controllers supporting Alaska operations to understand supply and cost rate variances.
  • Supports process improvement projects to update transactional, financial, and reporting processes.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and analytical projects as requested.
  • Regularly works onsite to build strong team connections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

This is a non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate range of $33 to $43per hour.

Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. For full-time employees, the initial PTO benefit starts at 20 days per year, adjusted commensurate with relevant experience, front loaded on the first of the year, initially prorated quarterly based on hire date. Commuter programs are also available.

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive finance related experience

  • Analytical background and experience working directly in a finance environment modeling revenues, costs, and expenses
  • Experience with an ERP system, such as SAP
Preferred Education & Experiences:
  • Experience working in a production/manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and building complex financial models and P&Ls
  • SAP experience
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work across departments and geographies
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills, including volume-mix-rate variance analysis

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
