Job summary

The City of Turlock is accepting applications for an Accounting Technician.

Under general supervision, provides technical, financial, statistical and other analytical support; conducts research and special project management; oversees confidential specialized record maintenance; ensures legal compliance and budgetary expenditures; supervises staff, and may assist in public activities or meetings with other service areas, agencies, committees, boards and commissions.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible technical clerical, accounting, or business experience with an emphasis on communication and public contact.

Responsibilities

• Process business license and permit applications, including identifying the request type, reviewing application, computation of fees and issuance of license or permit.
• Assist in payroll, utility billing and general record keeping.
• Maintain computerized records of licenses, permits and payroll.
• Supervise, evaluate and train account clerical staff when assigned.
