Job summary

Larimer County Department of Human Services in Colorado is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join the Accounting Team. This in-office role supports Accounts Payable, reimbursements, payroll, and grants across multiple systems, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

The position requires strong attention to detail and dependable attendance. The Senior Accounting Technician performs daily deposits, processes EBT mailings, and provides backup support to EBT Cashiers while maintaining

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience maintaining financial and statistical records in a related field.
  • Must be detail and team oriented; ability to understand rules and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information and payments.

Responsibilities

  • Issuing EBT cards to clients and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Enter and maintain client and financial data in multiple software systems, including Google Sheets.
  • Review and enter Accounts Payable invoices into the county system.
  • Collect client payments, record transactions, and maintain payment records.
  • Prepare and make daily deposits with accurate documentation.
  • Process EBT mailings as needed and provide backup support to EBT Cashiers.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of client information and financial records.

Job description

At the Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive and provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic staff member to join our Operations and Organizational Development Division as a Senior Accounting Technician.

The Senior Accounting Technician is part of the Accounting team for the Department of Human Services for Larimer County. The Accounting Team supports Human Services in the following areas: Accounts Payable, Mileage Reimbursements, Travel Reimbursements, Commercial Cards, CSBG/LCF Grants, Payroll, Trusts, EBT Client Cards, CCAP, and CORE.

This is a full time, in office, position, M-F 8:00-4:30, no remote time offered. Three professional references with valid contact information are required to be submitted as part of this application.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Providing exceptional customer service while issuing EBT cards to clients.
  • Entering and maintaining accurate client and financial information in various software systems, including Google Sheets.
  • Reviewing, verifying, and entering Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices into the County system.
  • Collecting client payments, accurately recording transactions, and maintaining payment records across multiple software systems.
  • Preparing and making daily deposits while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Processing EBT mailings as needed.
  • Providing backup support to other EBT Cashiers and assisting with departmental operations as needed.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy when handling client information, payments, and financial records.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

  • Three (3) years of experience maintaining financial and statistical records in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
