Job summary

Dietz Property Group is seeking a Director of Accounting Systems to lead financial system strategy, GAAP-compliant reporting, and cross-functional process improvements across Operations, Asset Management, IT, and Business Systems teams.

The ideal candidate will drive system implementations, upgrades, and governance while ensuring reporting integrity and scalable growth for multifamily and commercial real estate assets. This role offers significant leadership and strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent required.
• CPA license and/or CMA certification preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in multifamily residential or real estate.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organization's financial system strategy to support business objectives, operational efficiency and scalable growth.
• Lead the implementation, enhancement, integration and maintenance of accounting and financial reporting systems.
• Oversee system upgrades and provide software evaluations to ensure successful implementation and user adoption.
• Manage financial reporting tools and drive process improvements that enhance data accuracy, reporting efficiency and user experience.
• Optimize financial reporting and accounting workflows, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization and efficiency gains.
• Develop and deliver training documentation and governance standards for financial systems and reporting processes.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes through effective system management and reporting capabilities.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure financial systems support strategic objectives.
• Lead financial systems efforts with a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
